Yvonne Clayton
LPC
I am a trauma-informed counselor who uses a client-centered approach while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), polyvagal, and mindfulness-based strategies. I work with youth, adolescents, and adults to help them better understand their experiences, build effective coping skills, and move toward healing and emotional well-being. I support clients facing concerns such as trauma, depression, anxiety, stress management, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship conflict, and coping patterns that are no longer effective.
I strive to tailor therapeutic approaches to each client’s unique needs within a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment. I encourage clients to take an active role in the counseling process as we work together toward the goals they identify. By exploring personal strengths and building upon them, I aim to inspire meaningful and lasting change. I believe that each person possesses the ability, desire, and courage to create positive change, reach personal goals, and live a well-balanced, fulfilling life.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University in Seattle and a Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Human Rights from the University of Washington. I bring over 13 years of experience in the mental health field, working with individuals and families within my local community. Prior to licensure, I spent many years as a domestic violence advocate in both community-based and systems-based organizations in King County.
